Nainital: The contempt petition filed against former CM and former Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in the dues case of housing, water, electricity and other facilities of former Chief Ministers was heard in the High Court. The court has issued a show cause notice to Additional Secretary Dependra Chaudhary. The court has directed to reply to the notice in a week.
A contempt petition was filed on behalf of the Rulak Sansthan for non-deposit of the outstanding rent of housing, water, electricity and other facilities of former chief ministers. The Supreme Court has stayed the notice of contempt issued against former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, former Chief Minister BC Khanduri in the arrears of facilities. Union Education Minister and former Chief Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has accumulated arrears of electricity, water and about Rs 11 lakh.
In such a situation, former CM and Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari has neither deposited the arrears nor filed a petition in the Supreme Court. Being in a constitutional post, notice has to be given before running a contempt case against him, for which 6 months time is given. Only then proceeding is proceeded.
