Superflat Games independent studio led by game designer and composer Jasper Byrne on its official website presented a remake of the indie horror Lone Survivor – Super Lone Survivor.
The updated version of the adventure is intended for PC (digital stores not specified) and Nintendo Switch. The release of the modernized Lone Survivor is expected in 2021.
Super Lone Survivor has been rewritten from the ground up on a modern engine: the PC version will offer support for 4K effects, gamepads and ultra-wide monitors, and will only work on 64-bit systems.
In addition, the remake promised an increased frame rate. According to Byrne, Super Lone Survivor for Switch is already functioning and gives out the coveted 60 frames per second on the Nintendo hybrid console.
Byrne intends to use the features of the Super Lone Survivor engine when creating Ascending, which is part of the remake of the new story campaign. How long it will turn out, even the author himself does not yet know.
“The fact that [Ascending] included with the original game, removes the need for me to release a full-fledged sequel that I never planned. “Byrne explained.
Lone Survivor was released in March 2012 for PC (Steam), and later – already as part of the director’s cut – visited PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Wii U.
