Lenovo is gearing up to launch an entire line of devices that will have to compete with Redmi smartphones.
Yesterday we told you that the expected addition to the Redmi Note 9 lineup should take place on November 26 in China. The new devices will include two smartphones with 5G connectivity and one familiar 4G smartphone.
It looks like many manufacturers were very impressed by this news. Lenovo also released its response almost immediately – the company posted a post on its Weibo account about the release of several new devices.
After a little reflection, publications specializing in Chinese manufacturers realized that Lenovo was going to compete with the line from Redmi Note 9. Lenovo is preparing for release not three, but as many as six devices! The company has posted an official poster featuring the phrase “6 Coming”. Interestingly, we see only three devices on the poster.
Recall that a few years ago, Lenovo sold mid-budget devices under the Lemon designation. However, with increased competition from other brands, these devices gradually began to disappear from the market. Lenovo recently confirmed that Lemon smartphones will return to the Chinese market. According to rumors, Lemon devices may become a regular rebranding of existing Motorola smartphones, which is now owned by the Chinese company.
Lenovo CEO Chen Jin recently said in an interview that Lenovo and Motorola will position their products differently. Motorola will launch mid-range and premium smartphones, while Lenovo will focus its energies on the Legion line of gaming devices. For entry-level smartphones, Lemon devices will be responsible – just like Redmi for Xiaomi.
Well, let’s see what Lenovo does.
