With the new operating system of PlayStation 5, Sony has more or less changed the ways in which players can perform simple actions such as accessing the friends list, turning off the console or closing games and applications. Let’s find out how to do it together have the console close apps and games.
First of all it should be noted that on the new generation Sony console there is a feature similar to the Quick Resume of Xbox Series X | S but which, in the case of PS5, allows you to pause only one game and resume it even after putting the machine in sleep mode. In case you are not interested in being able to recall the last game started and resume exactly where you left off the game (unless it is a game with online functionality and therefore requires you to connect to the servers at every start) , you can close the game or application still running in the background by following a few simple steps. The first way to do this is to press the PlayStation button in the center of the controller, select Home in Control center and position the cursor on the small box of the game to be closed: at this point press the key Options and select “Close the game” from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can close the game directly from the Control Center by first clicking on Switcher (if there is a game in progress, the icon is the same as the title) and then pressing X on the active game: you will then see the same drop-down menu through which you can select “Close the game” and return to the main menu of the console.
