Per Christopher Dring, Head of Games B2B at ReedPop, but also pen of The Observer, The Guardian and the BBC, the launch of PS5 is preparing to be the largest in history of consoles. The data that are leaking for now, in fact, say that these are numbers higher than those registered on PS4. Xbox Series X / S are also doing well, better than Xbox One, but PS5 seems to be simply doing better.
This statement came at the end of a speech Christopher Dring was making with one of his follewer on Twitter. It all started with a question, or whether the few PS5s on the market are due to the fact that Sony has underrated the console request. The answer was a firm no and the reason is that at some point the production limit of the consoles is reached.
“There is always a limit somewhere. There are a limited number of factories, components and distribution channels. PS5 is set to be the biggest launch in console history. It’s not that they underestimated anything, it’s that they have produced and distributed everything they can, “Christopher Dring said in response.
“I’ve heard some market numbers,“the colleague explained later.”They are much bigger than PS4. And Xbox has already said that Xbox Series X/S they are doing better than Xbox One did. If I could spread these numbers I would say them.”
What do you think? While there is still no certainty that PS5 is the biggest launch in history, it certainly was one of the most spectacular. Have you seen the video with launch events from around the world?
