Samsung has registered new trademarks for new qled TVs in recent weeks. These are the brand names QLED Neo, QLED Platinum, QLED +, QLED Z, QNED and Quantum Matrix.
The company registered the Dual LED, Zero Bezel and Infinity Screen brands around the same time last year. A few months later, televisions with these names appeared on the market. It seems that the new brand names will be applied to devices that will hit the market in 2021.
The applications were discovered by TV news site FlatpanelsHD and German media site 4Kfilme. On these sites it is speculated that Samsung will release improved versions of the standard qled TVs while at the same time working on LCD TVs with miniled-backlights. The company is also said to be working on QD-OLED TVs and a new screen technology that uses quantum nano (rod) emitting diodes. Chances are that the QNED brand name will be used for that device.
Samsung will unveil the new TV plans in January at the virtual CES 2021.
