The overclocker hiding under the nickname Baby-j has set a new record for overclocking DDR4 RAM: he managed to take the symbolic mark of 7000 MHz.
The test system used an MSI MEG B550 Unify-X overclocking motherboard. The processor power subsystem consists of 16 phases, made according to the 14 + 2 scheme. 14 Titanium III chokes are involved. Two slots are available to accommodate RAM modules.
An AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 4650G chip was installed on the board. It contains six processing cores with the ability to simultaneously process up to 12 instruction streams. The base clock speed is 3.7 GHz, the maximum is 4.2 GHz.
During overclocking, we used one 16GB Crucial DDR4 RAM module. Timings – 22-26-26-46.
During the experiment, the overclocker managed to increase the RAM frequency to 3502.1 MHz. Thus, the effective frequency was about 7004 MHz, for the first time exceeding the landmark mark of 7 GHz.
