The extra episodes of the tenth season of “The Walking Dead” arrive on February 28, 2021, AMC announced this Thursday, November 19.
The channel also confirmed actors Robert Patrick and Okea Eme-Akwari in the new episodes of the zombie series. Another novelty is the participation of Hilarie Burton, wife of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, in which he will play Negan’s wife.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the return to filming will be very different and will require adaptations in the way of making “The Walking Dead”.
Angela Kang explained, for example, that there will be no scenes with 300 zombies and there will be a big focus on the characters’ stories and on the “different ways that horror and chills happen”, characterizing the situation as a “creative challenge”.
“It’s a completely different world for productions everywhere,” said Kang. “There are many safety protocols, which were developed in conjunction with the unions that represent the actors, directors and team,” he said.
In addition to the masks and visors used by the entire team, the studios will have air filters and ultraviolet light and the production will be monitored by an infectious disease specialist.
The conclusion of “The Walking Dead”, which has been on the air since 2010, will be made in several parts. First the six extra episodes, counted in season 10, then 12 episodes of part I of season 11 and, in 2022, the final 12 episodes.
“The season in two parts it has to do with programming ”, said Angela Kang, explaining that this packaging changed the expectations of the team, which will film and produce the episodes in sequence instead of making a stop to write, as usually happens between seasons.
“We are working to tell an excellent story in the 30 episodes we are missing,” said Angela Kang.
