At last year’s Gamescom 2019, THQ Nordic unexpectedly announced the revival of the once-famous helicopter arcade Comanche, with a focus on multiplayer combat. The project was released in Steam Early Access in March. And now the developers have made their project shareware.
According to the developers, in the free version of the game, you can choose between two modes (“Infiltration” and “Black Box”), five different versions of the attack helicopter and four combat drones, and also fight on three large-scale maps. Anyone who has purchased a Comanche in the past will be rewarded with a special skin to demonstrate their status as a Comanche veteran pilot. You can download and install the free version of the arcade on the Steam page – it is distributed as a demo.
Comanche is set in the near future. The player has a choice: dive into single player mode and contribute to the conflict on a global scale, or compete with other players from around the world in team-based multiplayer modes.
Single-player modes and missions are still the prerogative of the paid version. By the way, the paid version of Comanche in Early Access will receive a completely new mission: Operation Fire Sale. In it, pilots will travel to the majestic Alps aboard helicopters equipped with long-range weapons. The mission is to reconnoiter and monitor the vital military site of the Kude Core, and to effectively use ranged weapons to deliver devastating blows to the enemy.
The game also received a new training mode, in which pilots get acquainted with the basic functions of helicopters and drones in flight and on the battlefield. Comаnche also received many improvements – multiplayer matches load much faster, new sounds have been added, the user interface has been updated, and so on.
