2021 has every chance to be remembered as a year without movies, games, consoles and video cards. Just now, Paradox Interactive announced that Bloodlines 2 will not be released this year, and the project has not just been postponed (for the third time, by the way) – it will not be Hardsuit Labs that will finish development, but another studio (which one is not specified). About it reported on the official website of the project and Paradox quarterly report.
Bloodlines 2 is a sequel to the popular vampire role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, released in 2004. The project was announced in early 2019, and the game was commissioned by Hardsuit Labs (Blacklight: Retribution). Bloodlines 2 was originally planned to be released in March 2020. The first time, its release was postponed until the end of 2020, and the second time – until 2021. Now Paradox Interactive announced another postponement – for an indefinite period.
“We decided to postpone the release [Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2] at a later date, and not release the game in 2021. We also decided that Hardsuit Labs would no longer lead the development of Bloodlines 2, and we started working with a new partner studio to complete the game. It was a difficult decision, but we are convinced that this is the right way to do justice to the game. “
from the official statement from Paradox Interactive.
Paradox Interactive has yet to reveal the name of the studio that will complete development of the game after Hardsuit Labs. At the same time, the publisher temporarily closed pre-orders, which started immediately after the announcement of the game in 2019.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is being developed for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X.
