Game news Valheim: 4 million sales and a new biome planned for the end of the year
As millions of sales follow one another for Valheim, its developers are taking the opportunity to announce that they hope to be able to deliver the next biome by the end of the year, without accelerating development.
Monday, barely two days ago, we gave you the new attendance record for Valheim with more than 500,000 players connected simultaneously on Steam. While the game had already reached 3 million sales last Friday, 17 days after its release, today it is therefore the milestone of 4 million copies that has been passed in barely three weeks.
As usual now, the developers of Iron Gate and their publisher Coffee Stain took the opportunity to communicate the new figures around the Viking survival game. So, the game now boasts over 80,000 positive player reviews on Steam, making it the 57th highest rated game on the platform. As for streaming, Valheim hit a peak of 188,000 viewers on Monday February 22, while more than 28 million hours of gameplay have already been watched on Twitch.
Furthermore, Richard Svensson, CEO of Iron Gate Studios which has a team of 5 people as a reminder, also gave some additional information regarding the game’s roadmap:
Our current roadmap only reaches the next biome and we hope to have it completed by the end of the year, but it could very well take longer depending on the flow of development. I really don’t want to rush development, it never ends well.
