The next game from the developer of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch it could be a multiplayer title, at least based on their latest job posting.
Sucker Punch, the Sony studio behind the success of Ghost of Tsushima last year, is hiring employees for a new title and it looks like there will be a multiplayer component in the next team game. The job advertisement alone is enough to tell us that Sucker Punch is back at work, or at least she’s interested in working on multiplayer titles, but there are a few more details on the list that delve into the role. We talk about “Cloud systems, peer-to-peer and peer-to-server communication”as well as game features that “Enhance online gaming experiences”.
In fact, the job ad specifically mentions one “Spectacular multiplayer game”, which strongly implies that this it will be primarily a multiplayer game, rather than just a multiplayer mode linked to another title.
Sucker Punch has already dabbled in online, with the multiplayer mode of “Ghost Of Tsushima: Legends“ which added two-player missions and four-player survival missions to the base game. So, whatever the team is working on right now, they don’t seem to have lost their desire to bring multiplayer modes into their games.
Meanwhile, a previous job announcement from Sucker Punch looking for a combat design hints at the possibility of a Ghost of Tsushima sequel. The Sucker Punch game will also become a film, directed by the director of John Wick.
