A little over a month ago, we brought you a rumor from the insider Dusk Golem. According to him, in fact, there are two games in development dedicated to Silent Hill. To be precise, one exclusive to PlayStation 5, and one cross-platform. There were already rumors of the first that announced it at The Game Awards last year, and it was supposed to be a soft reboot. But, as we now know, this was not the case. The second, on the other hand, should be an episodic video game in the style of Telltale Game, with a gameplay similar to that of Until Dawn.
For both games the information is practically nil at the moment. Especially when it comes to the PlayStation 5 exclusive, it is not yet clear what Sony’s role is. According to the insider, the company should support it in some way, as it owns the marketing rights. Now there is a new leak coming from the ResetEra forums, specifically from the user KatharsisT. The insider claims that the new game dedicated to Silent Hill is still in development, but that the software house has changed. In fact, he wrote that: “Silent Hill is still in development but the studio has changed (and I don’t want to reveal the name for personal reasons)“. In his post, reference is also made to the remakes of Metal Gear Solid, and how the Bluepoint team is working on this project. The insider had already talked about it in January.
KatharsisT, when asked if the rumors had been verified by the staff, replied: “Yes, I was tested for that“. However, as always in these cases, do not take these rumors as official. E3 is getting closer and closer, and with it also the rumors about the next games. We remind you that the event will be digital and completely free. In addition, Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two, Warner Bros and Koch Media will participate. Sony, on the other hand, will not take part in the event, along with EA, Activision Blizzard, Sega, Bandai Namco and Square Enix.
