Game news A new Super Monkey Ball in development?
Released for the first time in Japanese arcades and then for the last time in December 2019, the Super Monkey Ball license may well be preparing for its return.
Before erasing all traces of its publication, the site of the Australian Classification Board has listing some “Super Monkey Ball : Banana Mania“a few hours ago now. Information spotted fairly quickly by our colleagues from Gematsu which could quite indicate the preparation of a new opus for the saga. For now, nothing more concrete to put in their mouths.
Recently, in December 2019, we were treated to Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, a new version of the game released on Wii in 2006. Published by Sega, the title included a new Decathlon mode, online leaderboards, improved graphics and optimized controls. Solo or multiplayer, the goal was to roll a monkey through the obstacles of multiple levels with various backgrounds.
A teasing in 2020 already?
In September of last year, Matt Brian, voiceover for the series, had already shared a few hints about an upcoming reveal from his page. Instagram. He wrote in particular: “I’m playing on a friend’s Switch. SuperMonkeyBall of course! I have to stop shouting “Ready, Go!” You understood. September is going to be amazing for what is to come.“Since then, more news, but the man has decided to post on his page the screenshots of articles which relay the rumor that we are currently telling you.
Earlier, the year before, director Masao Shirosaki predicted that a new opus could quite see the light of day, depending on the good results of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD. Words relayed by Crunchyroll in December 2019.
And of course, I’m aware that the most popular titles are the first two games. If there is enough support for Banana Blitz HD, it will open doors to remake the first two games or even a brand new title in the series. But for now, I’d be happy for everyone to have fun playing Banana Blitz HD.
