Samsung Galaxy M21, A01, Buds Pro: the news of the updates
The presence of some device Samsung in a collection of new ones software updates it’s not even news anymore. Today the South Korean manufacturer deploys two cheap smartphones and a wearable. Let’s see what models they are and what news they are receiving.
Samsung Galaxy M21 (here our “couple review” with the older brother M31) is receiving the One UI Core 3.1, catching up with the almost twin Samsung Galaxy M31. Since it is a “Core” version, there are not all the novelties of the new UI, but only the essential ones. The basis obviously remains Android 11.
The 700+ MB OTA file introduces the firmware M215FXXU2BUD3 and also includes the security patches of March 2021. As for the news, Samsung, in the changelog, talks about general performance and camera improvements.
Model low cost Samsung Galaxy A01 is receiving a nice major update with Android 11 and even the One UI 3.1 and the security patches of April 2021. In short, it seems that Samsung is supporting its base range better than many competitors do with the top models.
Returning to this update, Samsung Galaxy A01 is receiving the firmware version A015FXXU4BUD8 / A015GXXU4BUD8 with all the news listed and the roll out has started from Russia and various Asian markets.
Putting smartphones aside for the moment, let’s talk about wearables for a moment: there is a new update to be released for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro true wireless headphones (here is our review).
In particular, the R190XXU0AUD5 firmware is being rolled out, introducing the new function “Double tap on the edge of the earpiece“, Which can be activated from the Labs section of the Galaxy Wearable app. The feature can be used to control the volume, lowering and raising it with a tap on the edge of the left and right headphones respectively.
In addition to this, Samsung has changed the action “Tap and hold“, Which now extends the choice of actions to be performed.
Redmi 10X: the news of the update
Samsung isn’t the only manufacturer releasing a major update for a budget model: the mid-range 5G Redmi 10X is finally receiving Android 11.
The new version of the robot arrives covered with MIUI 12 – the smartphone will receive MIUI 12.5, but clearly its time has not yet come -, more precisely in version V18.104.22.168.RJHCNXM, and security patches for April 2021. It should be noted that this build is identified as Stable Beta, therefore its diffusion will be rather limited.
Motorola One Hyper: the news of the update
Today’s latest update to Android 11 is rolling out for Motorola One Hyper, starting with Brazil (where Motorola is particularly strong) and the United States.
At present the details of the update are not known, however the presence of the security patches of March 2021. In any case, since the winged brand uses a practically stock version of Android with some additions, it is reasonable to expect that the news are exactly those of Android 11.
Huawei P30 Lite: the news of the update
Much less exciting is the update being released for Huawei P30 Lite: the OTA file weighs 117 MB, introduces the software version EMUI 10.0.0.448 and contains nothing but the security patches of March 2021.
