They earn massive THR.
Failure Cyberpunk 2077 when released does not mean that CD Projekt RED loses on the number of refunds. It is proven that one of their ambitious games only gets a refund of approximately 30000 units. This means that most gamers still own the game today.
Sales success Cyberpunk 2077 which managed to climb Steam’s highest sales rankings in the weeks preceding and ahead of its release, it seems like it has paid off well for CD Projekt RED executives. This includes the founders of the Polish developer.
Launch Bloomberg, CD Projekt RED executives reportedly get fantastic salary bonuses. Unfortunately this does not have the same scenario for its employees who are covered in blood to fight for the development of the game.
Those who had been promised a similar bonus did get it, but not according to expectations and far below what was promised.
CEO CD Project RED, Marcin Iwinski get additional salary bonus for $ 6.3 million with co-CEO Adam Kicinski. Meanwhile board member Adam Badowski earned $ 4.2 million in bonus sales Cyberpunk 2077.
Other teams get a bonus of around $ 5000-9000 with senior staff of $ 15000- $ 20000. An insider told Bloomberg that there was an estimated $ 29.8 million in bonuses for nearly 865 employees with an average of about $ 34,000 in bonuses (including job performance bonuses).
Interestingly, the five executives made a total of approximately $ 28 million.
The four CD Projekt executives who received the bonus have a stake of approximately 33%, which has risen to 57% since Cyberpunk 2077 released. But they also get more bonuses in one year than workers who are paid for life.
When asked if the board members’ bonuses were “reasonable” at investor meetings, Kicinski said their compensation was always connected to company profits.
The good news is that it looks like CD Projekt will double check so that its employees don’t leave the studio. One employee said that this year the company is re-evaluating salaries and increasing income for those in lowest paying positions such as game testers.
