A small group of users are having problems with Returnal, Housemarque’s exclusive roguelite. These players, during the game session reported experiencing annoying anomalous crashes. An issue that the developers are aware of, although they suggest that the nature of the problem may be determined by the PlayStation 5 rather than the game itself.
On Discord, a spokesperson for Housemarque reported: “This is a problem with the platform. We sent our report to [Sony]. Specifically, it has something to do with the pre-boot system ”.
The Finnish software house is also working to solve some minor problems that plague the title: audio glitches, control mapping errors and a bug with the pre-order suit.
In the full post on Discord, the problem that arises Most reported is the lack of a save option. Obviously being a roguelite, it is one of the most significant characteristics of the playful genre to which it belongs. But Housemarque kept responding to fans with: “The game team is aware of the problem. It is no longer necessary to bring it to our attention “.
We cannot exclude that, in the future, developers may add some more saving options while respecting the particular type of Returnal gameplay. Although it is best to remember that Housemarque has always created games that are not particularly easy and intended for a more hardcore audience. Indeed this is their development philosophy, a bit like the various “Souls”By FromSoftware.
Other problems relate to some interactions with manufacturers and doors which can be solved by removing the suit obtained with the pre-order from Selen and restarting the run. It seems there are also problems with a different controller mapping, which can be resolved by returning to the default one.
