Over the weekend, a financial report emerged from Kadokawa Corporation, the holding company that owns the FromSoftware group. The Japanese publisher has put into account lower than expected revenue for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022, but how does this have to do with Elden Ring?
Daniel Ahmad at NiKo Partners (one of the most respected and appreciated videogame analysts) commented on the report on his Twitter profile: “Kadokawa was very honest in this, they expect lower-than-expected revenues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022 and clearly mention the postponement of certain productions.“
This might mean that Elden Ring will be released after March 2022 but it is possible that FromSoftware’s game has not been considered as a revenue forecast since the launch window is still shrouded in mystery. Elden Ring promises to be a sure blockbuster according to analysts but it is also true that the Kadokawa holding is active in many sectors and even if Elden Ring were to see the light in 2021 it may not be enough to mitigate the losses of other business segments.
Over the weekend, a new video of Elden Ring lasting just six seconds was released on the web, FromSoftware has not commented on the numerous leaks of recent times, we look forward to seeing when we will know more about this ambitious project.
