After a rapid rise in 2018, Fortnite it has become a real mass phenomenon.
The battle royale has in fact given way to a franchise absolutely varied and profitable, so much so that the new financial data confirm some truly mind-boggling results.
The document, made public following the judicial battle between Epic and Apple (and which led to the removal of the game from the App Store), confirms that Fortnite led to Epic more than 9 billion dollars in 2018 and 2019.
The strong point, however, is another: while not revealing in detail how much Epic has gained from Fortnite, the company reported profits for over 5.5 billion dollars in two years.
The revenue of Fortnite they have therefore far surpassed those of any other business or game in which Epic owns the rights.
A title like Rocket League, owned by Epic since 2019, it grossed “only” 108 million in 2018 and the following year.
But that’s not all: Epic’s proprietary graphics engine, theUnreal Engine, brought $ 221 million into the company’s coffers in the same amount of time.
Epic Game Store, launched at the end of 2018, instead recorded 235 million dollars between 2018 and 2019.

In any case, it was already known that the battle royale was a success: the game manages to collect over three thousand euros per minute, thanks to the support of a community of thousands of players.
It remains to be seen whether the success of the Epic Games title, on balance one of the most influential and significant in recent years, will also last throughout 2020 and 2021.
Fortnite has also recently invaded the world of comics thanks to the DC crossover with Batman, which is literally selling like hot cakes in our country.
