Almost a year after the debut in Italy of the Samsung Galaxy Book S (Intel), Ion and Flex notebooks (of the latter you can find our review HERE), the Korean company updates its line-up of laptops with three very new solutions. interesting. Let’s talk about Galaxy Book, Galaxy Book Pro e Galaxy Book Pro 360, announced last week and characterized by good specifications and an attractive design. For a few hours I have in my hands the convertible model, or the Book Pro 360, and I want to tell you my first impressions.
BEAUTIFUL, BUT ABOVE ALL THIN AND LIGHT
There is no denying it, Samsung has done a crazy job in terms of space optimization and build quality. The new Galaxy Book Pro 360 is probably one of the thinnest and lightest convertibles. It is not easy, indeed, it is almost impossible to find a competitor who is able to do better when it comes to thickness and weight. The first is reduced to just 11.5 mm while the scale stops at 1.04 Kg. All while maintaining an absolutely solid solution characterized by a practically flawless assembly.
The hinges offer the right resistance, you can open the screen with one hand but at the same time the seal is good and the panel does not rock when we use it away from a stable support surface. Of course, you can completely rotate the display and use the solution in tent or tablet mode. This flexibility, if not understood, is further amplified by the excellent portability.
Great keyboard feedback which has well-spaced island keys characterized by a nice precise click. The stroke is not very deep but you type well and you quickly get used to the layout. The touchpad is also good, not huge, but which makes good use of the space available on the palm rest and allows us to use the system gestures without any problem.
A few words also about the provision of ports. The reduced thickness does not allow you to insert connectors that are too bulky and therefore we find 3 USB-C, one with Thunderbolt 4 support, a microSD card reader and a 3.5mm audio jack. In short, sufficient to satisfy most needs and easily expandable with adapters from a few euros. In the package we also find the S Pen, supported by the touch display, and transportable attached to the metal rear panel thanks to a magnet.
I mentioned the display but let me give you a few more details. This is a 13.3 inch Full HD AMOLED that really leaves you speechless for color rendering and contrast. The blacks are obviously very deep and we have very bright and bright colors. At first glance, the brightness is good and, despite some reflections due to the glossy panel, we are able to work outdoors, especially in dim light.
INTEL CPU AND SUPER INTEGRATED SOFTWARE
Let’s spend a few words about what is hidden under the body of this Galaxy Book Pro 360. The CPU is an 11th generation Intel Core: in our case it is a Core i5 1165G7 but the version marketed in Italy has a Core i7 1175G7. In both configurations, however, the graphics component is assigned to an Intel Iris Xe Graphics chip, capable of providing adequate performance for what is the target of a product of this type.
Also RAM e storage, here respectively 8GB and 256GB, differ from the endowment of the model on the market in our country, which is 16GB e 512GB. If already in this way the system seems to us reactive and fluid, even with different programs open at the same time, we can imagine comparable or superior performance for the variant that we can currently buy on the Samsung website.

Despite its reduced thickness and weight, it is there a 63 Wh battery. We have not yet been able to fully test the duration but with standard work use it should not be a problem at all to arrive in the evening. The size of the packaged charger is striking, capable of delivering up to 65W, which uses gallium nitride technology and offers extremely compact dimensions (less than a classic smartphone power supply).
It is also right to mention the software because on board this Book Pro 360 we find the Windows 10 operating system in the Pro version which has been enriched with a series of applications that integrate perfectly with those present in the One UI, the interface that characterizes Samsung smartphones and tablets. The apps we find here have the same feel in terms of design and allow the user to keep all their data in sync. We therefore find for example Samsung Notes, Samsung Gallery, Smart Switch and DeX. Consider that there is also a sort of Airdrop, still not active but coming soon, which will allow you to quickly transfer the contents from the smartphone to the PC, exactly as happens with the Apple counterpart.
In conclusion, the ecosystem is gaining more and more value and, among Windows notebook manufacturers, Samsung is probably the company that has the most integration with the other devices in your portfolio.
PRICE AND FIRST CONSIDERATIONS
The new Galaxy Book Pro 360 is currently available in the configuration with Core i7, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage at one price of 1,599 euros. A figure that may seem high but which, when compared to the other similar solutions available on the market, actually appears – in my view – correct.
This consideration obviously takes into account all the factors listed above: starting from the construction, the materials and the optimization of dimensions and weight, up to the technical data sheet, the excellent AMOLED panel and compatibility with the S Pen. But not only that, Samsung has in fact included a series of software customizations that alone can be worth the price difference compared to any competing solution; a difference which, moreover, is very subtle or almost non-existent.
