STALKER 2 will only be released on Xbox Series X and Series S, as well as obviously on PC. This was stated by the developer himself in a recent interview with Gamingbolt. The reason? Simple, the game would never be able to run on PS4 and Xbox One.
The information was revealed by Zakhar Bocharov, PR Manager of the developer GSC Game World who is working on the game. Bocharov was quite explicit in the interview: “STALKER 2 is a next-gen game, and it’s impossible to run on Xbox One or PS4“.
The PR also made it clear that the game will run in 4K with HDR on Xbox Series X and with lower resolution on Series S. It has already been confirmed that there will be support for Ray Tracing and a 120fps game mode.
On the other hand officially there is no plan for a release on PlayStation 5. The information indicates that for the time being the game will be an Xbox exclusive, while according to the rumors circulating on the net it would only be an exclusive time for a few months.
The launch date is also unknown. In the intentions of the developers, at least as stated by one of the developers, it should be released next winter. But nothing official at the moment, Microsoft is likely to keep the announcement for one of the summer events.
