A revolutionary technology
A team of scientists from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) has developed a technology capable of ensuring the 95% of original capacity of a battery for at least 5 years. The team of researchers focused on improving the component currently present within common batteries, the polivinilidenfluoruro (PVDF). It is a polymer that, after 500 charging cycles, can lose up to 35% of its original capacity.
The JAIST team discovered a new material called Bis-immino-acenaftenechinone-parafenilene (BV) able to guarantee performances far superior to those of PVDF. In fact, estimates speak of 95% of original recharge capacity after more than 1700 charging cycles, corresponding more or less to about 5 years of use of the smartphone.

This will encourage consumers to buy more expensive battery-powered goods such as electric vehicles, which will be used for many years. ” It is not yet clear if and when Samsung will embrace this new technology, but we are confident that other major companies in the sector are also interested in extending the battery life.
