Like many extraordinary works these days, Before I Forget merge of a Game Jam, in this case the spirit of Claire Morwood and Chella Ramanan, co-founders of the micro studio 3-Fold Games. This narrative experience is a real immersion in the life of an individual with dementia, the very first person. The disorientation in space, the disappearance of temporal benchmarks, the terrible anxieties, altered perceptions and especially the loss of memory are finely transcribed there, thanks in particular to the advice provided by psychiatrists over the course of development. Thus the apparent austerity of his monochrome universe, which is covered with colors as the herone recovers his memories, allows this story to be told bit by bit, while pursuing his artistic aspirations with small graphic and musical touches. Admittedly, the resolutely poetic story sometimes pulls a little too much on the sensitive chord through the monologues, but the simplicity of such a staging generates deep emotions, and in fact serves its purpose. Ditto for its barely one hour long, the bonus comments humiliatingly shedding light on this literally unforgettable production, a useful addition in absolute terms.
