Apple TV + has secured the rights to the science fiction film “Finch” starring Tom Hanks, which will be available in preview on the streaming service later this year.
As reported Deadline, there were several suitors for this movie, but Apple eventually came up with the most tempting offer. Finch promises really well and there are already several Oscar nominations.
The film revolves around the story of a man, a robot and a dog forming an unlikely family. Tom Hanks plays Finch, a robotic engineer who lived in an underground bunker for a decade after being among the few survivors of a solar cataclysm that turned the world into a wasteland.
Finch creates a robot, played by “Get Out” actor Caleb Landry Jones, to watch over his dog Goodyear when he can no longer do so. The three embark on a perilous journey into the desolate American West, while Finch discovers the joy of feeling alive again.
The director is Miguel Sapochnik, known for directing some of the best episodes of Game of Thrones.
