Game news 29 years later, Flashback is back
Developed by Dephine Software and released in 1992 Flashback has marked the memory of many gamers. The title has been re-released several times, including recently in an anniversary edition, but Microids announces today that it is getting down to business.
It is through the press that the French publisher and Paul Cuisset Flashback 2 announce, almost 30 years after the original opus. Expected for 2022, the title is announced on PC and consoles without further details for the moment. Next year, players will therefore find Conrad B. Hart on a New Adventure, developed by the original creator of the license, accompanied by his studio. As you might expect, the title will take the shape of an action / platform game, in the continuity of what was done many years ago. Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids, said on the occasion of this announcement:
We are delighted to offer Flashback fans a real sequel to this monument of French video games. At Microids, we are committed to producing projects that showcase talented artists. Paul Cuisset is one of the pioneers of video games in France with international recognition. We appreciate the privilege of being able to work hand in hand on this project.
For his part Paul Cuisset, veteran developer at the helm of this sequel, we feel that this project has been matured for many years :
Developing Flashback 2 has been a long-standing desire. I can’t wait for players to experience the rest of the adventures of Conrad B. Hart, a character created almost 30 years ago. With Microids, we want to make it a point of honor to produce a sequel that will appeal to fans of the first episode but also to a new audience ready to immerse themselves in this futuristic universe.
