Infratel Italia, on behalf of the MiSE, the Ministry of Economic Development, will develop the activity of coverage mapping update of the national territory with ultra-broadband networks.
The objective of this plan is to verify the maintenance of the coverage commitments undertaken by the operators last year and to obtain evidence of the new interventions implemented and those planned for the next five years, as well as to have a detailed mapping of the networks available. fixed NGA (Next Generation Access) and VHCN (Very High Capacity Network).
Furthermore, as foreseen by the Recovery Plan, any further public interventions may be established. This will be defined on the basis of the results of the updating of the mapping which concerns all areas of the country, with the exception of those covered by the interventions already financed and being implemented as part of the “Intervention plan in the white areas”.
Infratel announces that the telco “they must present plans that can be clearly referred to strategic and executive decisions”. In particular, it must be indicated:
- a detailed investment plan, which includes for each phase of implementation the start and completion dates and the elements that highlight their concrete feasibility;
- architecture and structure of the network on the territory with the number of sites, territorial location, equipment and technologies envisaged;
- sizing of radio sites (with evidence of the methods and parameters used for the radioelectric simulations) in terms of average number of users per site and per antenna, consistent with what is provided in the questionnaires filled in by address and sizing of the band, data and transport network.
All this information, accompanied by documentation certifying the credibility of the respective coverage plans, must be sent by the operators by next June 15th.
