The director of The Witcher 3, a title that made the fortune of CD Project RED, resigned from his role after being subjected to an internal investigation for bullying. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz had always rejected all kinds of accusations.
According to a report by the famous Jason Schreier, CD Project RED for months he had been conducting an internal investigation into the allegations of bullying against the director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, which emerged thanks to an email sent to employees and entered into Bloomberg’s possession. In the same message, the developer stressed that the special commission created to evaluate the case found him not guilty, thus explaining the reasons that led him to leave his position: “Despite this, many people experience fear, stress and discomfort when working with me“. Tomaszkiewicz then apologized to all the staff.”for the bad weather it caused“underlining that the decision was agreed with the board of directors.
Konrad Tomaszkiewicz’s work on The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt has not only influenced the great success of the game but also the huge expansion of CD Projekt RED itself which has become one of the best known and most important software houses in the world. The former director was also expected to play a significant role on future projects related to The Witcher. Contacted for a comment on the affair Tomaszkiewicz said he was “sad, disappointed and resigned“.
