Until recently, customizing a smartphone was an operation that required, in most cases, the unlocking of root permissions, with all the security risks associated with this operation. Now there are very few operations that require this procedure, and among the manufacturers that allow the greatest freedom of interface customization we undoubtedly find Xiaomi.
Thanks to the Temi application, present in all Xiaomi smartphones, you can customize the appearance of your smartphone in many ways. Not only wallpapers and icons, however, but also start screens, which the most geeks will know by the term of bootanimation, and the reload screens. Today we explain how to customize all these aspects.
How to change the bootanimation
The procedure for changing the startup animation is very simple and takes very few steps. It is in fact sufficient to rely on the Themes application to be able to do so. What takes some time, and some patience, is the search for a theme that includes a bootanimation, since at the moment there is no possibility to filter this type of content.
It is typical of Xiaomi to make hidden pearls available to its users and make them difficult to find, perhaps to increase satisfaction in finding and using them. Below is a list of themes that integrate a new avio animation, in many cases taken from those of other customizations (OneUI, FlymeOS, OxygenOS etc.).
Once you have downloaded the theme you will not need to apply it, especially if you have already applied customizations to some system elements and do not want to lose them. Just enter your profile, with the icon at the bottom left, choose the Startup animation item to enter the selection screen. At this point you can choose the animation you prefer among those you have downloaded.
It is also possible to change the melody at start-up, using the “Start-up sound” item which allows you to choose any sound from the system sounds, or that you have downloaded, to be played together with the start-up animation. Once the selections have been applied, there is nothing left to do but restart the smartphone, to immediately enjoy the changes made. Below is the list of themes that have a bootanimation.
- Decent Blue
- DEEP PURPLE – UI
- Exrtremely Dark v12
- Azyteck – LineUI
- Pure2 pro V12
- Lite os V12
- Pixel Experience Square 2
- One UI Pro
- Helllo white V12
- Flyme 8
- Pixel 4 Dark
- Android 12
- 12 iOS Beta
- Galaxy S20
- ROG mod v12
- Mantra – LineUI
- Right OS
- JOY UI 12
- Z.Bluer LineUi Vip
How to change the charging screen
If, on the other hand, you are fed up with the classic Xiaomi charging screen, you can always replace it through the themes application. Remember that the new animation will only be visible during the wired charging of the smartphone, so if you use wireless charging you will see the traditional screen of the Chinese manufacturer.
Once again, therefore, open the Themes app, enter the profile and choose “Customize theme”. Now you will have to enter the “Unlock style” section, choose the style and press the “Customize” button at the bottom. Some images do not offer customization, but in most cases you will be able to change numerous aspects, including the reload screen.
There are so many customization possibilities to choose from, often there are at least 2-3 reload animations and the choice between various styles, characters and shortcuts to show on the unlock screen. After making the changes you just have to connect the charger and enjoy the new animations.
Also in this case it is not possible to filter this type of content, we leave you a short list of themes that include the reload animation change:
- Ronix UI
- ProGoogle Dual 2.0
- Pure2 Pro v11
- GREEN [Liquid]
- Freedom (3 animations)
- Hello White v12 (5 animations)
Obviously, if the new features applied are not to your liking you can always restore the default ones from Xiaomi or apply the classic theme that will restore the appearance to the factory one, without touching other system settings.
