Game news Limited Run Games announces agreement with Microsoft
For many years, several companies have centered their activity around the limited production of games in physics, recent or old. This is particularly the case with Limited Run Games, which generally sells its stocks in a few minutes.
However, and collectors will have noticed, few companies offer Xbox versions, and Limited Run Games was not one of them. Seven years after the start of its activity, the publisher announces have signed a partnership with Microsoft a few months ago, opening the door to the creation of Xbox editions of the games in its catalog. The news was announced in the podcast Xbox Expansion Pass by the co-founders of Limited Run Games, namely Douglas Bogart et Josh Fairhurst. When asked about the Xbox version, they answered the following:
We are making very good progress. We’re officially Xbox partners, so we hope to have more to reveal soon. The deal was signed last year but it took a long time to get and fill out the paperwork because Xbox wants us to do some things first… We work with Bethesda all the time, and Microsoft just bought Bethesda, and it’s really weird that the versions of DOOM we made weren’t on Xbox, it just doesn’t make sense.
We work with Double Fine quite often, and we’ve released a few of their games. So it’s strange that these games aren’t available on Xbox, as the studio (has been bought out). So I think one of our big initial initiatives on Xbox will be to fix these things. Hopefully this will be all sorted out and we can really start moving forward with Xbox.
It will therefore be necessary wait a few months before seeing this agreement result in the sale of Xbox products. In any case, this remains good news for Xbox players, deprived of these editions that other collectors are snapping up.
