We talked extensively about AirTags, it seemed there was nothing more to add, but this is not the case because today we have an important “lack” to report.
AirTags are Apple’s trackers. by now we have learned to know them, we have analyzed them thoroughly both nell’unboxing than to the review dedicated. As you may have guessed from the title of the article, however, to these trackers there is no possibility of being shared and traced by family members.
Yet, thinking about it, it comes naturally to us to imagine how convenient it could be to be able to share the location of the Airtag among family members. Think of a parent attaching one of these products to the house keys used by their child. In this way, that set of keys can be traced in case of loss or worse, of theft, even by several members of the same family.
In short, this is a strange omission on Apple’s part as it is already possible to track the location of family members’ iPhones, iPads, Macs and other Apple devices. AirTags are also displayed in the Where Is app but it is not possible to locate them and keep track of the location of the Tag of a family member other than the rightful owner.
At this point we think that there is nothing from a purely technical point of view that would prevent Apple from implementing this feature with a future software update. Having an option to share AirTags with family members could be one of those features that are as obvious as they are useful. Even because Tile and some other personal item trackers offer this functionality for some time.
Have you bought this latest Apple product? It would be convenient for you to be able to track down the objects of family members connected to tags through the Where Is? Application.
