Is this the end of Blizzard?
If you are asked whether a developer and publisher is successful with his community to stay positive, then Blizzard is the answer. Developer StarCraft, WarCraft, Diablo, and Overwatch This has succeeded in building the community with quality games mixed with the hearts of the developers.
The integrity they had maintained over the years gave birth to many loyal players who loved the game. They also never fail to present a new playerbase with a fantastic number in each game.
But over the past few years, it seems like Blizzard’s bad luck continues. The departure of the CEO and founder, Mike Morhaime and several other senior staff makes him no longer like the old Blizzard. Especially after its parent company, Activision got involved in its business.
This incident makes the game, which has had a very strong playerbase, decreases every year. The peak of this month, it is calculated that they have left Blizzard in large numbers.
According to reports Massively Overpowered, Blizzard confirmed that yesterday, they had 27 million monthly active players in early 2021. This number decreased to 39% when compared to the beginning of 2018 with a total of 38 million active players.
Blizzard is currently preparing the main content for expansion World of Warcraft: Shadowlands namely Chains of Domination and Burning Crusade Classic. The mobile game that is planned for release this year, Diablo Immortal is also entering the second phase of testing.
While Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 still reportedly won’t be released this year.
