A concept artist working at Playground Games tried to imagine the setting of Bloodborne 2, the unannounced (but loudly requested by fans) sequel to From Software’s original soulslike masterpiece. Would you like it like this?
The architect of this incredible work is Thomas Chamberlain: the concept artist of the English subsidiary of Xbox Game Studios has produced a whole series of sketches and cards to trace the hypothetical narrative, graphic, stylistic and playful path of Bloodborne 2.
The Playground artist’s experiment is daring to say the least: Chamberlain imagines a post-apocalyptic scenario set in a desert, a region far from the gothic atmosphere of the city of Yharnam which was the backdrop to the dark-hued epic of Bloodborne Hunter.
In Chamberlain’s artworks there are also cards that describe in great detail the monsters to face, the most important places to visit as the mysterious hero and the weapons to unlock as you progress in the adventure. In our in-depth video we retrace the work done by the Playground Games artist. For the occasion, we invite you to read our special by Marco Mottura on artwork and ideas for the sequel to Bloodborne that does not exist.
