Game news Call of Duty 2021: Already a release window for the “next-gen” episode!
Today is the time for financial reports, and it is also through the latter that Activision has confirmed the no-surprise! A brand new Call of Duty will be released at the end of the year on our favorite consoles. At the controls? Sledgehammer Games!
It has been a long time since we had heard of Sledgehammer Games, despite a particularly well-organized schedule from Activision. Remember, Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, and Infinity Ward had to take turns developing their own episode so that the US publisher could release a Call of Duty every year. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned for Sledgehammer Games, which since Call of Duty: WWII, the 2017 episode, simply hasn’t released anything. Good news ! Today, Sledgehammer Games is reborn from its ashes and indeed intends to return to the front of the stage.
Indeed, it was during its last financial report that Activision confirmed the latest rumors: Sledgehammer Games will develop the 2021 episode of Call of Duty well. This episode will see the light of day next fall and will be specially designed for the next-gen.
We are very happy with the release of a premium Call of Duty this year. Development is being led by Sledgehammer Games. The game looks great and on track for its fall release. It’s an experience designed for the next-gen. It will feature stunning graphics in game modes (Campaign, Multiplayer and Co-op) designed to integrate and enhance the existing CoD ecosystem. We look forward to sharing more details with the community soon. Daniel Alegre, President of Activision
Unfortunately, we don’t know more about this next episode, but if we are to believe the latest rumors, this brand new Call of Duty would be called WWII Vanguard and would take place in the 1950s. In this story, the world is ravaged by war as World War II is still alive.
In order to strengthen the development of this new opus, Activision announces that it will open a third studio in Toronto. The latter will come to the aid of members of Foster City and Melbourne.
Today we’re also thrilled to announce we’re expanding with a new team in Toronto, Canada to partner with our teams in Foster City, CA and Melbourne, VIC! pic.twitter.com/HDmRdDA3ul
