Sounds like a future that many gamers dream of but unfortunately, with the execution so far not tantalizing, this is probably the right sentence to describe what happened to Google’s cloud gaming service – Google Stadia. This paid service, which apparently does not carry a Netflix-style subscription system, is also not yet available in many regions of the world, making access so limited. In the midst of closing the studio some time ago, the name Stadia is not exactly positive in today’s gaming industry. And it comes with even more bad news.
According to a report from the 9to5google site quoted from The Information, the Vice President and Head of Product who should be responsible for Google Stadia – John Justice has just left Google.
There is no clear reason stated, but it is Justice’s previous responsibility to oversee what the consumer experience is like with Stadia and communicate what kinds of new features will come to the cloud gaming service. It is unclear who will replace Justice and how his departure will affect Stadia as a product.
Google itself is still improving Stadia by continuing to provide support for more games and features, which, unfortunately, is not followed by availability in several regions such as Indonesia, for example. How about you? Still interested in this technology?
