For some time there has been talk of a Marvel fighting game developed by NetherRealm, the studio responsible for productions such as Mortal Kombat and Injustice. Ed Boon, MK’s dad, commented on a Tweet from James Gunn and Geoff Keighley joined in the exchange … who knows anything about it?
It is Ed Boon who sparked the debate on social media by stating how James Gunn succeeds “to work for Marvel and DC without problems. Impressive.“adding a rather dubious emoji to his message actually.
What does this Tweet mean? Apparently nothing but according to many fans Boon would like to make it clear that he is in a situation similar to that of Gunn, divided between Marvel (with a second fighting game in development and rumors) and DC (Injustice). Will it really be like this? We do not know but as mentioned in the controversy Geoff Keighley also joined, Canadian journalist, author and host of The Game Awards, who commented with an emoji that seems to suggest the arrival of new possibilities in this regard.
Just words or is there something more? NetherRealm is a studio owned by Warner Bros and it is therefore difficult to think that the team could be working on a game based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe rather than on a new DC project. However, these are mere speculations, and what do you think?
