Sony Pictures has postponed the theatrical release of Venom 2 again. The film with Tom Hardy in the lead role will not be released until October 14, 2021. Those responsible have not yet given a reason.
Originally, Venom: Let There Be Carange was due to hit theaters in October 2020. Due to the pandemic, the start was postponed to June 25, 2021. Another delay followed later, dating the film for September 23, 2021. Now fans have to wait a few more weeks for the sequel. Cletus “Carnage” Kasady will make the already complicated life of Eddie “Venom” Brock even more difficult in the new film. Woody Harrelson takes on the role of Carnage. The other cast include Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Reid Scott as Dr. Dan Lewis and Naomie Harris as Shriek.
Andy Serkis, who was already in the MCU as arms dealer Ulysses Klaue in the Marvel universe, took over the direction. However, the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel characters has nothing to do with the Marvel Studios films. For the coming year, Sony is planning the next Marvel film with Morbius (played by Jared Leto).
