The Association of Ukrainian Automobile Manufacturers Ukravtoprom reported that 280.3 thousand cars were imported to Ukraine in six months. The total customs value of these cars amounted to more than $ 2.1 billion. Compared to the first half of last year, imports of passenger cars increased by almost 87 thousand units or 45%.
The lion’s share in these imports (80.5%) were used cars – importers spent $ 1.05 billion on their purchase. The largest number of cars with mileage was imported from Germany, from January to June – 46 thousand units, the total customs value of which was $ 231 million. In second place is the United States, from where 40,000 used cars were imported and cleared through Ukraine, worth $ 286 million. In third place is Poland – 25,000 cars ($ 66 million).
Japan dominates the supply of new cars. 11.2 thousand cars were delivered from the “Land where the sun rises” in six months. Japanese suppliers earned almost $ 260 million on this. Next are China and Romania, from where 11,000 units arrived in the country. and 5.8 thousand units. new machines respectively. Imports of new cars from China cost Ukraine $ 38 million, and from Romania – $ 67 million.
It should be noted that in July alone, Ukrainians bought almost 55,000 used cars imported from abroad (a record for the last 30 months) and only 10,000 new cars.
