A few days ago, Activison released the first trailer for its upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Vanguard, and this Friday PlayStation owners will be able to take part in alpha testing and try out the new mode from Sledgehammer Games – Champion Hill.
Alpha kicks off on August 27 (20:00 UTC) and runs until August 29 (20:00 UTC). All interested PS4 and PS5 users will be able to participate, because there is no need to pre-order or even a PS Plus subscription (except for Germany and Japan). The preload will already be available today at 13:00, and if you have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone or Black Ops Cold War installed, then after downloading, you can go to Alpha through the menu of one of the listed games. All test participants will receive a Business Card and an Emblem.
Champion Hill’s new multiplayer mode is described by the developers as a “multi-arena survival tournament” where “tactics and strategy are combined with dynamic action and close-range gunplay.” In Alpha, confrontations will take place between the units: Duo (2v2) or Trio (3v3). Having recruited their squad, the players enter a round robin tournament, where they will compete with the other 7 teams. Each of the squads has a certain number of lives and the main goal is to stay alive in a series of synchronized rounds. By the way, all players at the start have the same equipment, but you can make money by collecting various drops on the map or killing your opponents, and buy new weapons or equipment.
Call of Duty: Vanguard will release on November 5th on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
