Koch Media and SNK CORPORATION announced today that the fighting game “The King of Fighters XV” will be released on February 17, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
“The King of Fighters XV” will feature 39 characters, including classic beloved characters, resurrected fan favorites, and those who will be critical to the events to come. It’s the first time the heroes from each saga have come together, making this a must-see moment on The King of Fighters XV storyline. The latest part of the “The King of Fighters XV” saga ties in with the story mode of the previous title. Heroes from the Orochi, NESTS and Ash sagas have joined The King of Fighters XV, and this time the story is heading for an explosive climax.
“The King of Fighters XV” offers the classic 3-on-3 team fight system as well as a number of new features such as Shatter Strike, a new mechanic with which the players can counter enemy attacks. There is also an improved MAX mode and MAX mode (Quick) with a rush function that allows you to perform combos by quickly pressing attack buttons. All of these features, including some reworked and dynamic special moves, ensure explosive combat and exciting gameplay for new and experienced players alike.
“The King of Fighters XV” has 1 to 2 players locally and 2 to 8 players online. The game offers a wide range of online modes including Ranked Match, Cashual Match, Room Match and Online Trianing. There is also a new DRAFT VS mode in which you compete against an opponent and try to catch your favorite character before they can. The rollback netcode was adopted for an optimal online experience.
