Google is expected to make the final, stable version of Android 12 available during the month of September. Then, some manufacturers, in partnership with Google, will provide new versions of their user interfaces. In this restricted group we find OPPO with its ColorOS 12 interface whose first test builds (beta) are already on the horizon.
Indeed, we now see OPPO publicizing and making known its next big UI update, the ColorOS 12 version. This will be the next iteration, based on Google’s Android 12 and one of the most anticipated updates by its users. Then we can see the first teaser released by the Chinese manufacturer.

The first official reference to OPPO’s ColorOS 12 was shared today on the Chinese social network Weibo. There we see the image above, as well as a small description that sends us to the release of more details tomorrow (September 7th).
In light of the above, as well as taking into account the previous leaks of information, we believe that the announcement will take place on September 13th, with more details to come soon. We remind you that, last year, the Chinese manufacturer dedicated its own presentation event for the launch of Color OS 11, based on Android 11, through the stable channel.
That said, we believe the same will happen this year. If confirmed, Android 12 can be officially made available by Google until the 13th. Thus, OPPO should announce its new iteration of the UI on that date.

ColorOS 13 should bring the new Cross Screen Interconnection function.
Currently we have little information about the list of new features to be present on ColorOS 12. However, based on the information leaks, the presence of the Cross Screen Interconnection functionality is pointed out, very similar to what we see in the Huawei interface, nicknamed there as Multi Screen Collaboration. It is, in short, a boost to multitasking.
Additionally the Asian manufacturer should implement some changes to the design language and general appearance of its interface. According to rumors, we will have some design elements inspired by Xiaomi’s MIUI, FlymeOS, Smartisan OS, as well as OnePlus’s HydrogenOS.
In summary, the overall design of the next version of this UI will be guided not only by Android 12, but also by software from other Chinese manufacturers.

Software updates are an increasingly important issue in global markets. In fact, in Europe there is already a call for EU legislation to oblige manufacturers to provide up to 7 years of security updates.
It is also worth noting that this version of the interface will not be limited to OPPO smartphones. That is, it will also be present on OnePlus and Realme smartphones marketed in China. Outside their home country, these brands will keep their OxygenOS and Realme UI, respectively.
Finally, pointing out the obvious, Realme’s interface – the Realme UI – is nothing more than ColorOS with some changes. This is because OPPO is the parent company of both OnePlus and Realme.
On a final note, we are now waiting for the revelation of more information about ColorOS 12. More specifically, the arrival dates, as well as the list of news to be present in this iteration.
