Oppo took advantage, without pity or pity, of the fall of Huawei in recent years, in the various markets, where of course, we must also include the Portuguese market. After all, the Chinese giant already occupies the third position by land Lusa, and apparently, the goal is even to enter a gigantic war with Samsung and Xiaomi, in order to stay at the top of the market. (In case you didn’t know, in 2021, we will have a brutal rivalry between Xiaomi, Samsung and Oppo in Portugal. The change of seats within these companies has been really interesting, with theft of ‘talent’ by both parties!)
Well, to start the ‘war’, we now have a new release to try to entice consumers to switch smartphones in the next, and probably super important, holiday season. We’re talking about the Reno6, led by a new Pro model, which, by the way, isn’t exactly a top of the range, but it passes very well for one.
Let’s go in parts!
OPPO Reno6 5G and Reno6 Pro 5G: First impressions
So it was just moments ago that Oppo announced the arrival of this new range on the market. Well then, the more desirable of the two models, the Reno6 Pro, has a 6.55” AMOLED screen (Full HD+ – 2400 x 1080). A 10-bit screen capable of reaching 90Hz.
In terms of processing, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which is basically an evolution to last year’s high-end SoC. It is also a SoC that we already had the opportunity to test in POCO F3, where it impressed us a lot. In addition to the powerful processor, we also have 12GB of RAM, which, as it is becoming fashionable, can reach 19GB, due to the possibility of the device being able to get another 7GB from the UFS 3.1 storage, which in this version has 256GB.
In short, it is a smartphone that, despite not having a Snapdragon 888 or 888+, is a really very interesting machine, extremely capable of filling even the most demanding consumer. Especially when looking at the rear camera module!
Here we have a 4 sensor system, led by the 50MP Sony IMX766, which is supported by a 16MP ultrawide sensor, another 13MP telephoto sensor, and a 2MP sensor. As if that wasn’t enough, we still have some magic in the form of a color sensor, which we’ll explain in the device’s detailed review. However, instead of the front sensor, we have 32MP.
Finally, in the battery field, we have 4500Mah supporting 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging. However, and here I think we have a big flaw in a ‘Pro’ device… The wireless charging was left in the drawer.
Reno6: The most wallet-friendly model, which still continues to offer a lot of ‘Pro’ things
The most bank-friendly model is very similar to the Pro model in terms of aesthetics, but on the screen it drops to 6.43” (the quality is identical), and of course, instead of the Snapdragon 870, we have a MediaTek Dimensity 900, accompanied by 8GB of RAM (with the same technology as fetching RAM from storage) as well as 128GB of internal storage.
In the photographic field, we have a 64MP main sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and another 2MP macro sensor. On the front, we have 32MP, the same sensor as the Pro.
Finally, the battery is around 4300mAh, with the same charging speed.
Pricing and Availability
You can now buy any of these devices in Portugal, and even take advantage of pre-sale campaigns. Thus, the Reno6 5G will cost €529.99, while the Reno6 Pro will cost up to €829.99.
