Kolkata. Former Union minister and BJP MP Babul Supriyo, who quit the BJP and joined the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, said on Sunday that life has changed his life rather than the fear of being “retired hurt” from public affairs. A new path has been opened for him. Supriyo said he does not have to prove anything to anyone and has been doing grassroots politics ever since he became an MP from Asansol in 2014 on a BJP ticket. Addressing a press conference at the TMC headquarters here, Supriyo said, “Life has opened a new path for me rather than the prospect of being hurt retired from public life.”

“I have received a lot of love and support from the party (TMC) with whom I have had a bad relationship,” he said. After being removed from the Union Council of Ministers, BJP MP Babul Supriyo, who showed soft and sometimes hot attitude for several weeks, on Saturday surprised the people by joining the TMC. Supriyo, who is representing the Lok Sabha for the second time from the Asansol parliamentary seat, had earlier said that he would quit politics. However, the BJP leadership later convinced him to continue as a member of the Lok Sabha.
I thank Mamata didi, Abhishek Banerjee and TMC for giving me a chance in the ‘playing 11’. I am aware of trolling on social media. I’ve been engaged in politics for the last 7 years.
