You must have heard many times that a couple has named their child after their favorite film star or cricketer. At the same time, there has been a tradition of keeping it after the name of your favorite politician for a long time. But now a case has come to light in Sweden when a couple was forced to name their newborn son after Russian President Vladimir Putin. As soon as the Swedish government came to know about it, it banned the use of this name.

According to media reports, a couple living in the Swedish city of Lahom is a fan of Russian President Putin. It was already decided on his behalf that if he had a son, he would be named Vladimir Putin. It is believed that according to Swedish law, children’s names should not be disputed. The local administration ordered that this name kept by the couple should be banned and this name should be changed.

Please note that this is not the first case. Earlier the Swedish government had banned many names including Allah, Michael Jackson and Ford. Which simply means that no parent can keep these names for their children. There was also an incident when a parent was forbidden to name their baby girl Metallica, although it was later approved.
