In Russia, the ruling party will get 324 out of 450 seats in the next national parliament. The announcement was made by the election authorities on Tuesday. This number is less than the number of seats won by the pro-Kremlin party ‘United Russia’ in the last election but still higher than the majority.

The restoration of the party’s dominance in Russia’s Parliament ‘Duma’ is considered important for the Russian presidential election to be held in 2024 when the current term of Russian President Vladimir Putin ends.
