Yesterday we reported that the price of the chips that bring the much-desired modules to life RAM memory were finally going down, which of course will influence the price in the third quarter of 2021 and beginning of the year 2022.
But it’s not just DRAM chips going down in price! NAND Flash memory chips have also started to show a downward trend. What is clear, in turn, means that SSDs will also drop in price by the end of the year.
It’s not just RAM that will go down in price, SSDs will too!
Therefore, according to the latest market study by TrendForce, the demand for smartphones, Chromebooks, TVs, memory cards, etc… Dropped significantly in the second half of the year. In fact, at this stage of the championship, only in the business and data center segment, we can find a still very high demand.
Which in turn means that the component stock is reaching ‘more normal’ levels. That’s exactly why the demand for NAND Flash memory controllers will also drop, resulting in price drops in the production of components like the so famous and desired SSD.
In short, all products based on NAND Flash memory are expected to experience a price drop in the last quarter of the year, with TrendForce pointing to a renegotiation of contracts with prices (up to) 5% lower.
