Wazir Ahmed Siddiqui, who runs a pharmacy on the side of the square, told The Associated Press that four bodies were brought to the square but three were taken to be displayed in other parts of the city. Siddiqui said that at the crossroads, the Taliban announced that these four men were involved in the kidnapping who were captured but killed by the police. It was difficult to say whether the four were killed in police firing or whether they were killed after being arrested.
