One month after the resignation of the now former CEO Ebba Ljungerud, Paradox Interactive has announced the cancellation of several projects not yet revealed to the general public to focus on the games that best suit the economic and technical needs of the company.
As stated in the official press release of the Swedish developer in fact: “The cancellation is a consequence of the company’s strategy to focus resources and expertise on its proven gaming niches and the projects that best meet return and risk requirements“. Fredrik Wester, current CEO, then continued:”Paradox Interactive was born and raised with management and strategy games. We have our hearts and minds there and are proud to create games that can be played for extended periods of time. We have therefore further refined our pipeline to ensure that high-potential projects have the necessary resources for the best possible development. We now have a promising game pipeline that we can’t wait to share with our players“.
Paradox Interactive is currently working on 15 titles. Only four of these have been officially unveiled: Victoria 3, Crusader Kings 3 for console, the Shadowrun Trilogy for console and Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. In recent months, the study has been shaken by the result of a survey that revealed inappropriate conduct in the workplace. Wester himself admitted acting inappropriately at a 2018 meeting.
