Gkf has released UK physical game sales data for the past week, and there have been some predictable changes at the top of the charts. FIFA is always the biggest game in the region every year and a new release FIFA 22 also debuted at the top of the charts. Although sales of the physical launch are down 35% from last year’s game (which in turn are down 42% from FIFA 20), although digital sales of the series are growing every year, they are also up 31% for FIFA 22.
41% of its sales came from PS4, 27% from Xbox One and 23% from PS5. Surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch version, which is another Legacy Edition, sold more than the Xbox Series X in terms of physical sales, with the former accounting for 5% of sales and the latter at 4%.
Another new chart entry is Sonic Colors Ultimate, which finally saw its physical European release after a delay. The remaster comes in at # 3 with 53% of sales on Nintendo Switch, 32% on PS4, and 15% on Xbox One. In 4th place is Hot Wheels Unleashed, with a solid debut that saw 39% of sales on PS5, 27% on Switch, 14% on PS4, 11% on Xbox One and 8% on Xbox Series X / S.
