Apple has publicly released a document that speaks of the dangers of loading applications outside of official stores. In fact, sideloading poses great dangers. Remember that Android allows the installation of applications outside official stores, through files that can be downloaded from the Internet or obtained from third-party stores. Apple’s case is quite different. You can only install apps through the App Store. However there is a problem. Is that the European Union can force the apple giant to allow the installation of everything that is outside the official store. Right now Apple says that iOS is more secure than Android. However that can change.
Apple: iOS is more secure than Android for this reason!
Apple explains everything in a document and starts by saying that the iPhone is a very personal device. In fact, this is where people store a lot of personal information. This means that keeping users’ privacy is crucial. After all, nobody wants personal information in the wrong hands.
Apple says that over the past four years, Android devices have had 15 to 47 times more malware infections than the iPhone. Many of these cases originate from sideloading applications. That is, by loading apps outside the official store.
But why is sideloading apps so dangerous?
From the outset, these apps don’t need to provide all the information a store needs to be able to publish them. Developers who want to be on the App Store have to provide a lot of information, including contacts, addresses and others. Outside the store they don’t have to indicate anything. This makes it easier for someone to create apps to infect users and leave without getting caught.
Apple says forcing apps to sideload will create major problems with security systems that protect the iPhone’s operating system and services from malware, intrusion and operational failures.
