There are notebooks that are a good surprise and it is exactly in this category that I include this bet by HP. In fact, the HP Pavilion 15-eg0002np is a device that stands out mainly for its design and colors, but also for what’s inside. In fact, this manufacturer has achieved a good balance between quality and price and for that reason we managed to get our hands on equipment that costs 750 Euros, but which still looks premium.
HP Pavilion 15 (2021): A great balance between quality and price
It is said that the eyes also eat and in this field there is no doubt that we are full. The model we tested bets on a shade of blue that makes it especially attractive. In fact, over the days I’ve been with him, all the comments I’ve received have been positive and he manages to please both male and female audiences. However for a device with a 15 inch screen it turns out to be relatively light. However, although it has a plastic chassis, the texture makes it look like we are dealing with a device with a metal case.
When we opened the computer we immediately realized that great care was taken with the placement of all the elements.
In fact, everything is very clean. I highlight the keyboard with an excellent size of the keys and above all with a very pleasant touch. I normally use a Macbook Pro to work on a daily basis and it didn’t cost me anything to switch to this one. In fact, I wrote perfectly well and with all the comfort. This is a very positive point because there are manufacturers that provide keyboards where it even “hurts” to write.
Anyway and considering that for 750 Euros you can’t have everything there are some things left out. That said, the keyboard is not backlit, which might be missed on occasion.
However the power button is perfectly integrated in the middle of the other keys. A good idea to keep the clean design I mentioned. Right below the keyboard we have the touchpad that in my view has the ideal dimensions.
As for the connectivity on the left side we have the HDMI output for connection to a monitor or a television. In the case of HDMI I was surprised that it was an HDMI 2.0 port instead of 1.4. This means that the system supports external 4K monitors at 60 fps.
We also have a normal USB port and another USB-C port. Finally, there is a microSD card reader.
On the right side we have another USB port and the power input. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to include another USB port but two for the time being is fine.
HP Pavilion 15 (2021): Hardware
Regarding the hardware, this device bets on an eleventh generation Intel Core i5 processor that operates at 2.40Ghz. This is joined by 12GB of memory. As for the graphics card we have an integrated one, namely an Intel Iris Xe Graphics.
Although Intel has sold this graphics card very well we can’t expect it to run the heaviest games at 60 FPS. However, you don’t have any problem running other equally popular titles that aren’t so demanding. Especially when we’re talking about 1080p.
In practical terms I tried the Rocket League and everything worked well. This despite two breaks during the game. Now in the case of another equally popular title, in this case Fortnite, things aren’t so good anymore. In any case, this is not a computer designed to play games. It is in practice an excellent notebook to work with and that even makes a little leg in games. This is the correct way to put things.
As for storage we are dealing with 512GB which is more than enough.
The battery of this notebook is a little disappointing. In fact and given the dimensions of the notebook, you would expect it to last at least for a whole day. However in most cases I managed seven or eight hours depending on what I was doing. In fact, watching Netflix took about six hours. In other words, it could be a little better.
Of course this doesn’t mean this notebook is bad. Anyway we could have a longer battery life. In any case, loading is fast and reaches half capacity in about half an hour. In fact, this ends up compensating a little for the issue of autonomy.
The HP Pavilion 15 (2021) eg0002np is an excellent machine for productivity and bets on an attractive style that pleases both male and female audiences. It’s fast in all the main functions in terms of productivity and it even manages to give games a leg up. However, given the characteristics we can’t expect titles to run at maximum 60 FPS. In any case, we have a good balance of quality and price, especially considering that this equipment costs 750 Euros. Without a doubt, we recommend whether or not it was from HP.
